Steve Beirens started his studies at the age of 12 at The National Ballet School of Antwerp, Belgium, under the direction of Jos Brabants. Steve also worked with The Royal Ballet of Flanders, directed by Valery Panov. Following graduation, Beirens danced for one season with Le Jeune Ballet de France. In October 1995, he joined The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, under the direction of Gerald Arpino, as a principal dancer. From January 2001 through December 2005, Steve has worked as a Guest Dancer and Coach in numerous companies across the United States. As of August 2008 Steve Beirens is a Faculty member of University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music/Dance Department. Beirens founded and directed Le Jeune Dance Company 2011 summer project, a ballet company for first time professionals in Cincinnati. From January 2014 until August 2014 Beirens was the interim Artistic and Academy Director for Ballet Theatre Midwest. In January 2015 Steve Beirens and his wife Hannah Dorfmueller co-founded and co-direct Le Jeune Dance.
