Making a Scene: An Inside Look at CCM's Production of 'Cosi Fan Tutte'

CCM’s recent production of Mozart’s Così Fan Tutte wowed critics and audiences alike. In her review for the Cincinnati Enquirer, Janelle Gelfand observed,

"The updated production – to the mid-20th century – worked wonderfully. It included a stunning Mid-Century Modern house (complete with hot tub) and a couple of swinging Albanian strangers looking like John Lennon and George Harrison had just wandered off the set of the Magical Mystery Tour."

UC photojournalism major Rob Misleh presents an insider’s look at the making of this opera’s set, which was designed by recent CCM alumnus Ryan Howell (MFA Stage Design, 2013).

Now based in New York, Howell's upcoming credits include Dames at Sea (The Wick Theatre) and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs (Lee Strausberg).

Howell's work spans theatre, opera, special events and product design. Previous productions have included collaborations with renowned fine artist Amy Shackleton, Metropolitan Opera director and CCM faculty member Robin Guarino, and various others.
