INTRODUCING A NEW UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR AT CCM FOR FALL 2012!
Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music Production (CMP)
This degree offers a comprehensive education in professional commercial music studies. This unique program combines core training in music theory, composition, arranging and musicianship combined with recording studio techniques, commercial music and media technologies.
The Commercial Music Production degree includes an additional emphasis on entrepreneurial business acumen by inclusion of a minor field in Music Business in Entrepreneurship. This will create a vibrant and exclusive educational experience that will provide graduates numerous opportunities for meaningful employment in the music industry.
The graduates will possess skills in these areas:
* Composition for television, commercial media, and film
* Producing, mixing, running live sound
* Songwriting and scoring
* Music technology and related technologies
* Studio production techniques (editing, mixing and mastering)
* Film Scoring
* Music Business in Entrepreneurship
* Career Management
Application and Admissions Information and Procedures
* Music Audition and interview are required to determine satisfactory potential for degree program.
* A portfolio with mp3 audio recordings and scores of 2 original compositions. These should be accompanied by documentation in one of the following formats: scores, lead sheets, chord charts, or chord charts with lyrics. The recordings may be from live performances, studio, or computer generated (ie. sequenced, midi, playback exported from Finale or Sibelius software). These materials should be uploaded to www.getacceptd.com/ccm before a live interview/audition will be scheduled.

* Two (2) Letters of Recommendation, at least one of which addresses the applicant’s specific musical qualifications for success in this program.
The CMP Performance Audition
* The performance audition will consist of two (2) prepared pieces from the categories below:
• Popular Song
• Jazz Standard
• Blues
• Original Composition
• Sight Reading of melodies and/or chord changes
** CMP Students will have a laptop and software requirement – MacBook or MacBook Pro running Logic Pro and Sibelius
