20/20 Award Winners

Congratulations to 11 E-Media students who are winners of this year’s 20/20 Awards. 

Three new awards were made this year:

Shelli Coppoolse, a June graduate, will be a summer apprentice at Sony Imageworks and be paid a weekly salary plus receive a stipend from the division to help with the expenses of her move to Los Angeles.

Mark Hixenbaugh, an August graduate, will get the $3000 Ticket to LA Award.  This award, funded by alumni, enables Mark to go to LA to secure an internship or job to launch his future in the entertainment business.

Ryan Nasci, a junior, is the recipient of a $2500 scholarship offered to an outstanding E-Media student by Michael and Patricia Schiff.  Mr. Schiff is a 1983 graduate of our program and owner of Schiff Capital Group in Columbus.

There are two winners of our second annual CCM Arts Abroad Award.

Zach Mueller, a December graduate, and Heath Saunders, will travel to China to produce video documentation of the Great Wall International Music Festival in Beijing.  This award is from the Starling Foundation and CCM’s distinguished professor of violin, Kurt Sassmannshaus.

The recipients of our other, long-standing awards are:

J.T. Rooney: the $2500 Strader Outstanding Senior Award

Brandon Kisker: the $1000 Strader Audio/Radio Award

Jeff Stephens:  the $4500 Time Warner Cincinnati Internship Award.  Jeff will spend the summer as a paid intern producing video projects for Time Warner's digital channel 411.

Emily Macke: the $750 Radio-TV Alumni of the 50s & 60s Award

Aleksander Jovic:  say “Gute Reise und auf Wiedersehen!” to Aleks.  He’ll be in Munich next year thanks to a $6000 award from Procter and Gamble.

Joshua Wade: the $2500 WLWT/Hearst Television Internship Award

The award-winning students and their parents will be honored at a reception on May 24.
