Lee Fiser

Lee Fiser, professor of cello, chamber music and coordinator of camber music studies, has been a member of the faculty at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music since 1975. As a member of the LaSalle Quartet, ensemble in residence at U.S., he concertized extensively in Europe and Asia, as well as North America. Several of the Quartet's recordings for Deutsche Grammophon received international prizes; notably the Grand Prix du Disque for the Late Beethoven Quartets and the Edison prize for the Second Quartet by Alexander Zemlinsky The Quartet stopped touring in 1989, but Mr. Fiser continues to perform in solo recital, as soloist with orchestra, and in chamber music. Artists with whom he has performed include James Levine, Lynn Harrell, Benita Valente, Paula Robinson, Richard Goode, the Tokyo and Buchberger Quartets. Major Festival appearances as a member of the Lasalle Quartet include Salzburg, Vienna, Ravinia, Edinburgh, Evian, Holland, Berlin, Zurich, Bonn/Beethoven, La Scala/Berg, Bregenz, Helsinki, Aldeburgh/Britten-Pears. Mr. Fiser has done numerous master classes, both in cello and chamber music, in Europe and the U.S. He has also been a Jury member of international chamber music competitions. From 1972-1975, he was a member of the Cincinnati Orchestra. His cello studies were with Leslie Parnas at Boston University and Lynn Harrell at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
