Laura Giz

Originally from Tacoma, Wa, Laura is a violin major at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She will finish her BM next fall and will begin a Master's degree in the winter. Her most recent teachers have included Piotr Milewski, Won-Bin Yim, and David Updegraff. She has recieved a CCM and Dorothy Richard Starling violin scholarship each year of her study. Laura has served in principal violin positions in the CCM Concert Orchestra, including Concertmaster, and has played in other local orchestras, such as the Kentucky Symphony. In addition, she is an active performer in chamber music, and is a member of the Pike and Ambiance String Quartets. She hopes to one day play in a symphony, teach, or do some kind of ministry work. Last year, she soloed with the Accent'05 orchestra and is looking forward to the opportunity to perform again this year.
