Edward LeBorgneEd LeBorgne has just completed his fourth year as band director at Walnut Hills High School (Cincinnati, OH). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University in December of 1995 and his Masters of Music in Percussion Performance from Miami University (Oxford, OH) in May of 2001. As a Graduate Assistant for the Miami University Marching Band, he studied percussion under Dr. Bill Albin and wind conducting with Professor Gary Speck.
Prior to his position as graduate assistant at Miami University, Ed was the band director at Dayton High School (Dayton, KY) for three years.
While studying under Dr. Chris Tanner at Miami University, Ed developed a passion for steel drum music. He now directs the Walnut Hills Steel Drum Band, which he helped create. At Walnut Hills High School, Mr. LeBorgne also conducts Beginning Band, Symphonic Band, and Marching Band.
Ed, originally from Wallington, N.J., now resides in West Chester, Ohio with his wife, Wendy and their six-month-old son, Quinton. He continues to perform around the Tri-state area with his own steel drum quartet, “Island Ed and His Fiery Limbo Revue.” www.island-ed.com
