Strings & Guitar

A string performance from UC Prep's 2010-2011 season

A string performance from UC Prep's 2010-2011 season.

Violin, viola, cello and string bass students may elect to take traditional private lessons or Suzuki lessons, or they may enter the more intensive Starling Preparatory String Project or, for beginners age 4 and older, the Sassmannshaus Traditiion. Visit www.starling.org for information on Starling and Sassmannshaus.

Guitar students may study classical or popular (jazz) guitar in private lessons, and a new guitar class is offered on Saturdays at the UC Blue Ash campus (click here for  more information).

Guitar for the Young is a unique classical guitar program for children starting at age 5-6 with instructor Rodney Stucky. It requires parent involvement and begins with rote learning. It proceeds very gradually in small steps giving the student ample opportunity for musical success and technical development at each step of the way. Music reading is added once the child is comfortable with the guitar and has learned to play a few simple tunes. Contact the music registrar for more information.
