Betty Douglas graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam with a Bachelor Degree in Music in Flute Performance and proceeded to complete a Master of Music in Flute Performance at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. Douglas joined the UC-CCM  Preparatory Faculty in 1996.  Douglas plays in the chamber ensemble School House Symphony. She has performed with the Charleston (S.C.) Symphony, was the piccoloist with the Lexington (Ky.) Philharmonic until 2005 and was a 1996 Winner of the National Flute Association Piccolo Competition held in New York  City. Douglas has also taught flute at Morehead State University (Ky.), Earlham College (Ind.), and Northern Kentucky University. She has studied Suzuki Pedagogy with Kim Lorimier and David Gerry.
