Lydia Woodin

Violinist Lydia Fetner Woodin is a DMA Candidate at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Kurt Sassmannshaus. She teaches more than 50 students a week at CM Prep, the Seven Hills School, Immanuel School of the Arts, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, and at her home studio. In her 15 years of teaching, Fetner Woodin continuously works to refine her teaching in Suzuki and Sassmannshaus Tradition through observation of her students, as well as her own playing.

In 2005, Fetner Woodin was invited to attend the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca in Lucca, Italy, and performed in opera as well as chamber music throughout Italy. She attended the Great Wall International Music Academy in Beijing, China in 2007, where she studied chamber music with the American String Quartet and performed solo with the Great Wall International Music Academy Festival Orchestra. While attending the festival in Beijing, Lydia performed administrative functions, and was the librarian for the festival from 2006-2009.

As a soloist, Fetner Woodin has performed with orchestras in Beijing, Atlanta, and Cincinnati. She stays active as a recitalist and chamber musician, performing several recitals each year. She has performed in professional orchestras in Atlanta, Tulsa, Knoxville, Huntsville and Tuscaloosa, Ala., Tupelo and Meridian, Miss., Richmond, Ind., and Covington, Ky. She holds a MM from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and a bachelor's from the University of Alabama. She is active in several professional societies including the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the College Music Society.
