CCM Preparatory offers students the opportunity to participate in competitions, both department-sponsored and community-based, that can provide financial assistance to students who need it.
The CCM Achievement Festival for music students is held each spring. This year's festival will take place all day on May 18, with a number of recitals, special events and fun. We encourage all our private music students to perform in recitals that day, when they are evaluated by the faculty in an open, encouraging atmosphere. All students who participate can then apply for the Gino James DiMario Memorial Scholarship and the Cincinnati Symphony Club Scholarship program. Participation in the festival is a requirement for students seeking financial aid for music lessons. Call 513-556-2595 for more information.
Each year CCM Prep can nominate up to 12 students for the annual Overture Competition, which awards up to $2,500 in scholarships. Several CCM Prep students have won this prestigious competition. Students can audition in music, theatre or dance.
CCM Prep students also have participated in programs such as the Junior Music Experience piano program, Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition and the Blue Ash Symphony Competition. Information is available in the office and from your teacher.
The CCM Prep Department offers a number of scholarships to registered students (forms will be released during the school year):
