Student Technology Resources

General Information

CCM IT maintains and troubleshoots more than 400 computers and installs and updates supported software and equipment. The department consists of two full-time employees and several part-time student employees.

Computer Problems

The college has a helpdesk in the CCM Computer Lab (3207 Mary Emery Hall). The CCM helpdesk can help with routine issues, account problems, and connecting to various CCM Servers.  We also have various step by step How To documents for common issues.

Computer/Software Training

CCM IT does not provide software training.  UC provides formal training in many differant software packages through academic classes.  Please visit Onestop, the Libraries, Communiversity, or your faculty for more information.

There are also many resources for self guided training.  Safari Books Online through the UC Library and Lynda are very good resources. Students may also utilize the Student Technology Resource Center (STRC) at Langsam Library.

CCM Computer Laboratory (3207 Mary Emery Hall)

The CCM Computer Laboratory contains both Windows and Macintosh based computers. When not used as an instructional classroom it is open to students for use.

CCM Smart Classrooms

CCM has installed "Smart Classroom" features in many of its classrooms. These include: turntables, DVD's, computers, laptop hookups, CD players, etc. All can be viewed by the class via projector.  Classrooms can be reserved for one time use through the CCM Scheduling Office.

Web Space

CCM IT does not maintain a webserver for student use.  Students can use UCFileSpace maintained by UCIT to publish personal home pages.
