I am currently the Digital Marketing Intern at Learning Through Art, Inc. I have worked with the organization since last December, and plan to remain with them throughout my first year in the CCM Arts Administration program.

Learning Through Art is a local nonprofit located in Over-the-Rhine that has been committed to “building community through art” for the past 25 years. LTA is known for their Emmy-nominated performing arts literacy program Books Alive! For Kids®, which targets students pre-school through third grade. Books Alive! For Kids® is designed to enhance creative thinking, writing, reading and arts education. During the program LTA makes books come alive through sight, sound and touch. Students read the book, make a craft and then get to enjoy a performance of the book from The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.

My role in the organization involves managing the organization’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I work closely with the organization’s marketing consultant to create and implement social media plans for upcoming events. I recently re-designed and now manage the organization’s online store The LART Mart, which offers Books Alive! For Kids® products for teachers and parents to purchase.

Since entering the Arts Administration program, I have been able to use many of the skills I have learned about arts marketing to build and improve LTA’s digital presence. I consider it an advantage to be able to work in a small organization that allows me to have the creative freedom to test out my new ideas. Coincidentally, Kathy Wade, CEO of Learning Through Art, Inc. is a graduate of the CCM Arts Administration program! I love working with a professional who has received similar training and fully appreciates the complexities of managing an arts organization.
