Study Abroad/Internships/Summer Intensive Training

Prospective students often express the desire to study abroad. The benefits to young actors of interacting with other cultures and other people in other countries are obvious. We learn empathy, we learn to listen, and we make new stories. The impossible becomes possible and tangible.

As a result, study abroad is encouraged, and CCM Acting students have a rich history of studying in amazing locations around the world.

But there's more. As well as studying abroad, many CCM Acting students complete internships with agencies and in the offices of casting directors in both New York and Los Angeles during the summer months.

Wait. There's still more. Many CCM Acting students audition for and are accepted into various Summer Intensive Training programs, using the summer months to study with professionals on a daily basis in a new place with actors from around the country and world.

Because of the intensive work load during the school year, students looking for enrichment through study abroad, or internships, or intensive training programs, do so in the summer months. No such programs can be completed during the school year.

CCM Acting has a rich history of placing students in some of the most interesting, challenging, unique, and life-changing experiences in the world.

        . . . imagine the possibilities

Trevor Day (CCM Acting 2010)
National Stage Combat Workshop
Winston-Salem, North Carolina

"I can't help but remember the demand that I always find "the best in the room" and work with them.  If I am willing to approach work with an open mind and a thirst for understanding, I am a worthy partner for even the best. The experience was beautiful. "

"I was in the heart of London, the UK's theatre capital. I saw incredible theatre at Shakespeare's Globe, in and around the West End, and even The Globe's tour of Hamlet. Following my studies at RADA, I traveled north to The Edinburgh Fringe and then up to the breathtakingly beautiful Isle of Skye. A truly unforgettable summer!"

The Dadaab Theatre Project

"Each moment demanded that we listen as actively as possible, maintain an open and available heart, stand strong and rooted in the earth, respond freely to unfamiliar stimuli and be constantly honest even in the face of painful revelations.  I had known that theater was what I wanted to dedicate my life to, but the Dadaab Theater Project made me completely deconstruct and redefine why."

"I crashed my car the day before my 1st rehearsal. The walk to and from the campus was decidedly, not expedient, and it gave me time to really examine myself as a singularity within, yet again, a new environment. You choose who you become over the course of a day. You are only limited by the shallowness of your thinking, or the expectations you harbor."
