What is Music Performance : Piano?

All DMA programs consist of performance requirements (lessons, two solo recitals, one lecture recital and one chamber recital), and coursework in the following areas: performance preparation, historical perspective, and a cognate field. Further requirements: comprehensive written and oral examinaitons in the major area, and one of the following capstones: scholarly document, doctoral project or advanced coursework with accompanying documents. The applied teacher is the advisor for piano students.  It is suggested that you meet with your advisor early in order to make sure you are advancing towards graduation.  It is also suggested you meet with the Senior Academic Advisor your penultimate year of studies..
