The Friends of CCM and the CCM Alumni Governing Board have merged to create a new organization. CCMpower consists of fans, advocates and alumni dedicated to empowering potential and igniting possibilities — helping students succeed in school, on stage, in the arts and in life.
CCMpower membership funds support student scholarships, grants, masterclass opportunities, student and ensemble travel and so much more. New this year, current CCM students and alumni receive FREE membership to CCMpower.
Membership benefits include invitations to pop-up events, a subscription to the popular Village News electronic newsletter, and opportunities to meet CCM’s world-renowned faculty, students and alumni.
CCMpower student awards and grants are available to students for exceptional artistic projects, enhanced education opportunities, community involvement in the arts and inspiring career growth. These scholarships are generally used for extra-curricular or summer programs, supplies and equipment, artistic development and travel.
CCMpower also hosts two special events to help raise funds for student scholarships and community outreach projects:
- Jan. 20: The annual Moveable Feast allows patrons to sample student performances from across CCM’s spectrum of talent including jazz, musical theatre, dance, choral and orchestral.
- March 8: The Musical Theatre Senior Showcase Benefit is created and performed by CCM’s Musical Theatre class of 2017. See the 25th edition of the “Not Famous Yet” showcase featuring CCM’s “stars of tomorrow” before their New York City debut.
To apply for student awards and grants, students must register for their free CCMpower memberships and submit an online application. Scholarship descriptions and applications will be available Sept. 30, 2016. Applications for travel funding must be submitted through the CCM Admissions Office.
