'Anastasia' Releases Video of Christy Altomare, CCM Philharmonia Moveable Feast Performance

Upcoming Broadway musical Anastasia recently shared a live performance video of alumna Christy Altomare (BFA Musical Theatre, 2008) singing at UC's College-Conservatory of Music that is quickly making its way across the internet. If you've seen the video, you may recoginze the performance as the "opening course" from CCM's Moveable Feast 2017.

Cast as Anya in the upcoming musical, which features music by acclaimed composer Stephen Flaherty (BM Composition, 1982), Altomare returned to her alma mater to perform Journey to the Past with accompaniment from students in the CCM Philharmonia on Jan. 20, 2017.

Anastasia’s promotional team filmed Altomare’s Moveable Feast performance, which is being used to promote the show’s Broadway run. The video, which was shared by, Entertainment Weekly and Broadway World, has more than 225,000 views.

Inspired by the beloved films, the musical features a book by playwright Terrence McNally with Tony Award-winning director Dark Tresnjak leading the production and a score by Flaherty and his long-time writing partner, Lynn Ahrens. The company includes Derek Klena as Dmitry, Ramin Karimloo as Gleb, Mary Beth Peil as Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, John Bolton as Vlad Popov and Caroline O’Connor as Countess Lily Malevsky-Malevitch.
