Remote Instruction

Remote instruction is an alternative to having instruction provided via face-to-face, in-class sessions. Individual instructors are determining the best way to satisfy the learning objectives of their courses using remote delivery of course content.

Given differences in the specific attributes and learning objectives of different courses, it is likely that different instructors will choose different methods and approaches to remote instruction. Reach out to your students and let them know of your plan for remote instruction.

See the CET&L Faculty Toolkit and Guide for Remote Instruction.

Please contact CCM IT if you require a laptop or other instrutional equipment (web cameras, microphones, software licenses, etc.). We recommend that you contact CCM IT by phone at 513-556-6806.

Faculty can also submit a request by completing the Technological Barriers to Online Instruction Form.

The CCM IT Service Desk is operating remotely and can be accessed by phone at 513-556-6806 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday. Technicians can also be reached via email at ccmtech@ucmail.uc.edu, but phone calls are recommended is you require assistance during the CCM IT Service Desk's regular operating hours.

Additional technical help and support is available through the UCit Knowledge Base and Service Desk.

Remote Work

Each unit should develop plans to conduct work remotely where it is feasible and when job duties can be performed remotely without disrupting critical operations. Units may create a rotational minimal staffing schedule if units must be staffed, and for services that cannot be performed remotely, such as handling incoming mail.

Visit the UCit site for resources to help you with working remotely.

Events

All remaining student and faculty recitals, rehearsals and recording sessions are canceled until further notice. Students are not required to submit any cancellation paperwork as a result of this change.

Applied instruction faculty members should communicate directly with affected students to make alternative arrangements for in-person recitals that are degree requirements.

All Student Artist Program recitals organized through CCM Placement Services are canceled until further notice.

All of CCM’s public performances scheduled now through May 31, 2020, are canceled or postponed.

If you purchased a ticket to a CCM event that has been canceled due to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, you can contact the CCM Box Office at boxoff@uc.edu to request a refund.

The University has postponed spring 2020 commencement and convocation events in accordance with CDC and State guidelines on eliminating large gatherings to combat the coronavirus. Although we are temporarily unable to applaud your academic accomplishments in person, we are excited to recognize everything that you have achieved during your time at CCM.

We are inspired by your resilience during this unprecedented crisis and we are proud to count you amongst our global network of CCM alumni.

Building Access

The University of Cincinnati has limited open access to buildings on campus. As a result, all CCM Village facilities — including the practice rooms in Memorial Hall — will be closed to students until further notice.

For the time being, faculty can continue to access CCM Village via keycard if absolutely necessary.

Students who need to return building keys to CCM can do so via mail.

If you have questions or concerns regarding building access, please contact CCM Senior Director of Performance Operations Ray Dobson at rayburn.dobson@uc.edu or 513-556-9461.
