Dance Classes for Adults

Beginning Teen/Adult Ballet

Ages 12 and up

1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday
Tuition: $415

Students learn basic ballet vocabulary and the importance of the discipline involved in the learning of classical ballet and what they should expect of themselves as a student, including proper ballet etiquette in the classroom.

Intermediate Teen/Adult Ballet

Ages 12 and up

10-11:00 a.m. Saturday
Tuition: $415

This class is for the student who has studied ballet for at least two years or had studied ballet in length earlier in their life. Students will continue to develop the skills and technique found in classical ballet. The length of this class is extended to one and a half hours to allow the students more time to learn more advanced vocabulary, train and build endurance.

This level continues to approach more complicated combinations for barre and center work. There will also be an emphasis on proper ballet technique, alignment body placement, body awareness, musicality and phrasing and self- discipline. There also will be an emphasis on the importance of performance and phrasing movement.

Level 5+ Ballet unbundled (ages 13+)

For students who want to take 1 or 2 upper level (5, 6 or 7) class per week, we offer the following options. This replaces the punch card options we offered in the past.

Level 5+ One Class

Tuition: $275 per semester

Level 5+ Two Classes

Tuition: $500 per semester

Students will register for one or two classes a week and be able to attend leveled classes depending on their level placement. Review the bundle schedules to see which nights various levels are offered. This registration does not include Modern Dance, Pointe or Partnering classes, so students would have to register for those classes separately, as appropriately placed.

Adult Company

For adult students

The Adult Ballet Company is an ideal way for adult students to hone their performance skills. *Note this class overlaps with Intermediate Teen/Adult Ballet so students who are not in Company will simply sign up for the Intermediate class for the first hour.

Intermediate Modern Dance

Ballet Level 5 or higher, or with permission of instructor
12-1:30 p.m. Saturday
Tuition:  $550

This class is intended for the intermediate level dancer.  It is based on the traditional elements of modern dance technique; floor work, fall and recovery, spirals, concepts of space, time and force, developing technical proficiency, improvisational skills and musicality and rhythmic accuracy.  The class is also enhanced with elements of today's more contemporary dance. The goal of this class is for the student to gain a deeper understanding of modern dance and to explore their individuality as a dancer.
