Private Lessons

New Students: Contact Us & Learn More

  • Questions about tuition? There is more information about pricing on our tuition page. (Many people ask us about the different tiers. Tier 1 are typically grad students working on their DMA and Tier 2 are instructors who have completed their DMA. Most instructors are Tier 2 and not all instruments have Tier 1 instructors at this time.)
  • If you would like to complete a new student inquiry, first create a new account, then fill out a new student inquiry form. We recommend completing the process in this order so you will have a password created for your new account from the start.

    1. Create a new account in our registration system, ASAP Connected. Click the "Login here" link and then the "Create New Account" button and complete the process.

    2. Once you have created an account, click on Private Lessons on the left side of the screen. Then click Overview and then the link that reads "Click Here to Inquire About Private Lessons."

    3. Once you have submitted the inquiry form, someone from the CCM Preparatory office will be in touch to set up a trial lesson with an instructor.

Returning Students - 2019-2020 School Year

  • For current CCM Preparatory students who wish to continue their private lessons in the 2019-20 school year, please contact your instructor first to confirm your continuing schedule.
  • In order to register online, you'll need to know how long your lessons will be (30, 45 or 60 minutes).
  • Our lesson packages are for 30 weeks for the entire school year (this includes 29 lessons with the Achievement Festival serving as the 30th week).
  • Private lesson instruction begins on September 3, 2019.
  • Students must be registered for lessons before they can begin their studies.
  • To register for lessons, please click this link to login to our registration software. Then choose the correct instrument/discipline from the Private Lessons link on the left-hand menu bar. Instructions are provided for each instrument/discipline, so please follow them accordingly.

Please note that if you are a UC employee or a UC employee with children taking private lessons, there is a 10% discount available. In the "promotional code" section of the payment screen, you can enter "Bearcat2019" to apply the discount. If the discount code does not work, the office will simply need to verify your UC employment status and add you to the list of families eligible for the discount. You will need to contact the office at 513-556-2595 or ccmprep@uc.edu for assistance.

If you are waiting for a discount, you are welcome to choose the "Pay Later" option at check out in order to wait for a revised invoice, but please email us to let us know why the invoice remains unpaid (discount, scholarship, awaiting tuition assistance, need to send in monthly payment agreement form, etc.).

IDs for Memorial Hall

Some private lessons students might have their lessons in Memorial Hall. If this is the case, they will need an ID for entry into that building, as Memorial Hall is locked down at all hours.

To get an ID for Memorial Hall, we need the following:

  1. Name and birthdate of CCM Preparatory student
  2. A clean (no clutter in the background), forward-facing headshot that will be printed on the new ID
  3. M# (only needed for returning students with IDs that no longer work, new students will not have this information)

Email this information to: ccmprep@uc.edu

Returning students who already have IDs may find that their ID has expired, and for those, we need similiar information as above. In the case of expired IDs, we can put in a request to have the ID renewed, and once the ID is renewed, we can email you back to let you know it should be valid once again. Sometimes, we need the original ID in order to get a new one made, so we may need to confiscate the expired ID as part of the renewal process.

Lost/missing IDs: students will need to go to 4 Edwards Center during their regular business hours and pay for a replacement ID to be made.

Additional Program Options

We encourage our music students to participate in ensembles, chamber music, music theory classes, summer camps, recitals, and special events. Please browse through our website for a full range of our offerings.

If at any time along the way you have questions or other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the CCM Preparatory Team at 513-556-2595 or ccmprep@uc.edu.
