Carol Aufmann, a native of Washington DC, earned her bachelor's degree
from the Indiana University School of Music. A former member of the
Columbus Symphony and Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Carol performed for
many years as substitute with the National Symphony Orchestra.
Currently she is principal bassoon with the Richmond (Indiana)
Symphony and the Blue Ash-Montgomery Symphony, and plays with other
musical groups in the Cincinnati area. Carol has been teaching bassoon
students privately for over 25 years. She has been on the faculties of
the DC Youth Orchestra Program, the Levine School of Music, Howard
University, Suitland High School for Performing Arts, and numerous
high schools in Virginia and Ohio. She provides handmade reeds for her
students (at an additional charge) for those who haven't yet learned
to make their own.
