Violinist Harold Byers, a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra since 1974, has taught violin at CCM Prep since 1988. He studied violin at Oberlin and Juilliard with David Cerone, Paul Makanowitzky and Ivan Galamian and baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald at Oberlin College's Baroque Performance Institute and with Stanley Ritchie. He taught at Miami University and was a member of its Oxford String Quartet from 1980 to 1988.
A semi-finalist in the International Bach Competition in Washington D.C., Mr. Byers has been an active chamber musician. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the orchestra's pension fund board.
