Andrew Villemez developed a passion for music at an early age. Since his musical training began at age four in Los Angeles, California, he has developed a unique and spirited perspective on music.
He spent his undergraduate career at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where he studied with Craig Nies and participated in master classes with Emanuel Ax, Garrick Ohlsson, Robert Mann, James Dunham and Margot Garret. In 2010, he received the Blair Collaborative Piano Award for his performances with other students, and he now attends CCM and studies with Elisabeth and Eugene Pridonoff.
Along with his work in teaching, Villemez is a graduate assistant in Musical Theatre Accompanying and is working toward a piano doctorate with a cognate in Pedagogy and Arts Administration. His wide range of experience encompasses composing, arranging, musical theatre accompanying, coaching, jazz, and private and group piano teaching. He takes elements from all of these into his musical interpretation and interaction with other musicians and students.
