Ed Cohen has directed in the greater area for the past 25 years. His credits include the regional premieres of such works as Lee Blessing’s Down the Road, Tina Howe’s Pride’s Crossing, Israel Horovitz’ Lebensraum and Lanford Wilson’s Sympathetic Magic; his work was also seen in the 2004, 2007 and 2008 Cincinnati Fringe Festivals, with A Poster of the Cosmos. Mad by Jennifer Dalton and The Hotel Plays by Horovitz. Also in 2008, Ed directed Hugh Whitemore’s Breaking the Code for Northern Kentucky University, Recent Tragic Events for CCM Drama, Conor McPhearson’s Shining City for New Stage Collective and Death of a Salesman for New Edgecliff Theatre, each of which were recognized with nominations from City Beat’s CEA Awards. With his wife, Dee Anne Bryll, Ed co-directed the world amateur premiere of , as well as Assassins, Ragtime, Evita and Parade. This season, Ed and Dee Anne will be co-directing Falsettos for CCM and Singin’ in the Rain for the for the Performing Arts. Ed is co-artistic director of The IF Theatre Collective, a company dedicated to seldom-produced works of significant playwrights and is a founding board member and co-programming chair of the new , a cooperative venue for art, music and live theatre which opened last spring. Ed has been an acting instructor for CCM’s Preparatory Department in its Musical Theatre Intensive Program since 2005.
