Public Performance Schedule Update

March 17, 2020, Update

Due to the public health concerns caused by COVID-19, as well as further guidance from the State of Ohio and the CDC on enhanced mitigation strategies, CCM is implementing the following steps out of an abundance of caution:

Recitals, Rehearsals and Recording Sessions

All remaining student recitals, rehearsals and recording sessions are canceled starting on March 17 and remaining in effect until further notice. Students are not required to submit any cancelation paperwork as a result of this change.

We know that you have worked diligently to prepare for your upcoming recitals and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to respond to this fluid situation. Applied instruction faculty members will communicate directly with affected students to make alternative arrangements for in-person recitals that are degree requirements.

Building Access

As announced on March 16, the University of Cincinnati will limit open access to buildings on campus starting on March 17. As a result, all CCM Village facilities – including the practice rooms in Memorial Hall – will be closed to students until further notice.

Students who need to return materials like building keys or pick up personal belongings like instruments will have limited keycard access to Corbett Center and Memorial Hall through the breezeway doors at the CCM Circle from March 18-25 between the hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

If you have questions or concerns regarding building access, please contact CCM Senior Director of Performance Operations Ray Dobson at rayburn.dobson@uc.edu or 513-556-9461. Building keys can also be returned to CCM via mail.

Curriculum and Instruction

The University of Cincinnati remains open as we transition to remote operations and you can contact your instructors directly for additional information. Please remember that:

  • Spring Break will extend through Wednesday, March 25.
  • Classes will resume on Thursday, March 26.
  • Remote instruction for classes will extend through the end of the semester.

Please continue to consult uc.edu/about/registrar/calendars.html for academic deadlines.

Although there have been no documented cases of COVID-19 within our campus community, we continue to make needed preparations to be able to quickly respond if COVID-19 is detected. If the State of Ohio provides further direction for public institutions, the University of Cincinnati will adapt accordingly. For more information on the University of Cincinnati’s response to coronavirus, as well as for future updates, please visit our dedicated website at uc.edu/publichealth.

The Ohio Department of Health has additional information and resources available at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this situation. The health, safety and welfare of our entire community is of utmost importance to us. We will continue to make decisions with that in mind.

March 12, 2020, Update

Although there have been no documented cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus within our campus community, the University of Cincinnati is making needed preparations to be able to quickly respond if COVID-19 is detected.

Based on the March 12 update from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and following the University of Cincinnati’s updated public health practices, all CCM public performances scheduled through May 31, 2020, have been canceled or rescheduled.*

Student recitals that are degree requirements may still occur during this time frame, provided that social distancing is observed and respected; these student recitals will not be open to the general public.

Any ticket purchaser affected by a paid performance cancellation can contact the CCM Box Office at 513-556-4183 to request a refund.

This is an extremely fluid situation and guidelines are subject to change. Additional updates regarding CCM performances will be published at ccm.uc.edu and ccmonstage.universitytickets.com as they become available. General information updates and resources can be accessed at uc.edu/publichealth.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, patrons and communities remain our highest priority. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the CCM Box Office at 513-556-4183 if you have any additional questions or concerns. Please note that CCM’s Box Office will be closed due to UC’s Spring Break from March 15-22, 2020. We are grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you at a CCM performance in the near future.

* Due to the limited scale of the March 12-13 installments of TRANSMIGRATION and the March 12 Brass Choir Showcase, those events will proceed as scheduled at this time.
