Immersion Acting Workshop

Acting Workshop

June 15 - June 27, 2020

The Immersion Acting Workshop is an intensive two-week program where students study movement for the actor, stage combat, the Sanford Meisner technique, practical acting skills, rehearsal process, professional demeanor, audition technique and acting as a career.

Faculty includes CCM Preparatory, CCM faculty plus guest artists and instructors.

Tuition

2020 Tuition is $990, and includes a non-refundable deposit of $150.

The deposit must be paid by April 1. Tuition payments must be received by May 1.

Auditions/Registration

Students may audition for the Acting Workshop either online or in-person. Priority is given to applications received by the published deadlines.

Online Audition

Online auditions will open in early November and close March 15, 2020* (getacceptd.com/ccm). There is a $30 fee to audition online. Select "CCM Preparatory Department and "Acting Workshop" from the drop down lists to start your application.

*Please note that applications may be submitted/viewed until April 30th, if any spaces remain.

In-Person Audition

In-person auditions for local students will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 12:00-3:00pm. Make sure you sign-up on the link below to reserve an audition time. Audition requirements are listed below and on the sign-up.

Audition Requirements

All students should prepare the following for their audition

  • In-person auditionees: Headshot OR Get accepted auditionees: Close up shot with slate
  • One-page resume
  • Two (2) contrasting monologues under two (2) minutes in length
  • Have your teacher complete a recommendation form
    • Teachers can complete the recommendation process online through Get Acceptd  
    • Alternately, teachers can complete this form (click to download) and either fax it to 513-556-1972 or email it to ccmprep@uc.edu

Immersion Housing

Any student attending an Immersion program who is age 14 to 17 may live on campus at the University of Cincinnati. Housing is available for an additional fee. Click here for full housing details. Dorm check-in is Sunday, June 14, 2020 beginning at 2:00 pm. Check-out is Saturday, June 27, 2020. Since the final performance for Acting students is at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th, for students who need to catch a flight home, we recommend searching for flights that depart after 7 p.m. that day, to give students ample time to get to the airport.
