Tell us about your new position.
My position is the Director of Audience Engagement at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, which is a role within the marketing department. It works cross-departmentally to further the CSO's vision of engaging audiences and the community better than any other orchestra in the world.
What led you to want to work at this organization?
I really wanted to work at an organization where the work I was doing was meaningful to me. The CSO's mission to inspire audiences, and commitment to efforts in diversity and inclusiveness are something I am very passionate about. Overall, it just felt like a good fit.
What are you most looking forward to about the position?
Sharing art with people is what I enjoy most, and the fact that this position is responsible for creating unique experiences to do just that, is something that I look forward to.
What do you think will be most challenging about this position?
The position is still relatively young, it was created only a few years ago, so charting the path of how the position grows and evolves is something that is both exciting and challenging. Certainly, measuring and evaluating the success of engagement efforts will pose to be a great challenge.
How did CCM Arts Admin prepare you for this position?
I was fortunate enough to work with the CSO over the summer on LUMENOCITY as my summer internship, so I like to think that the Arts Admin program directly prepared me for the position.
What do you hope to accomplish or learn through this position? Through this position I hope to learn more about our community and find ways to for the CSO and its collaborative partners to make sincere contributions to the lives of all audiences.
