Undergraduate Application Instructions

CCM's admissions process begins on August 1 for entrance in the following year's fall semester. Students are encouraged to submit their pre-screening materials by November 15, but all application materials and pre-screening submissions must by received by December 1.

Applications completed later than December 1 will not receive admission or scholarship consideration.

Application Procedures

First-year applicants must first complete the UC Common Application with a non-refundable $50 application fee. Please only select the major(s) you intend to submit pre-screening materials for and make sure to only select each major one time. Applicants can list up to three majors, but are only required to list one.

After you submit your application for admission, you need to submit pre-screening materials on CCM's Get Acceptd website. Upon submission of your Common Application you will be provided with your UC application reference number. This number must be entered in order for you to be able to submit your pre-screening materials.

A fee of $60 will be charged for each pre-screening you submit. If you wish to be considered for admission for more than one major (i.e. Musical Theatre and Acting), you must submit the required pre-screen and pay the fee for both programs. You will only be considered for admission to the program(s) you submit pre-screening materials for.

Students receiving a fee waiver on their Common Application also qualify for a pre-screening fee waiver.

Transfer applicants (those who have attended a college or university after graduating from high school) must apply online using the Transfer Application. A non-refundable fee of $50 will be collected at the end of the application.

After you submit your application for admission, you need to submit pre-screening materials on CCM's Get Acceptd website. Upon submission of your transfer application you will be provided with your UC application reference number.

Students receiving a fee waiver on their transfer application also qualify for a pre-screening fee waiver.

CCM accepts transfer applications for fall enrollment only. The deadline to apply is December 1.

Request an official transcript from each institution attended.

Transfer students must send all official college transcripts. If you have earned fewer than 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours, you must also have your official high school transcript sent to UC.

Transcripts must be sent directly the UC Admissions office (not CCM Admissions) either via secure electronic delivery or by mail to:

Office of Admissions
University of Cincinnati
PO Box 210091
Cincinnati, Ohio 45221-0091

Official test scores sent directly from ACT or SAT testing services are optional. UC will not accept ACT or SAT scores on the high school transcript. The school codes for UC are: ACT: 3340; SAT: 1833.

Please note that official test scores are required if you wish to be considered for the University Honors Program.

One letter of recommendation is required for first-year applicants and can be requested via the Common Application. This letter should come from your school counselor or a core academic teacher (English, Math, Science, etc.).

Some programs require submission of additional letters of recommendation. Please upload additional letters to CCM's Get Acceptd website.

Review the following list for letters of recommendation requirements:

  • Music (Bachelor of Arts only): One letter of recommendation preferably from a music teacher.
  • Theater Design and Production (all majors): Three letters of recommendation from teachers, employers or similarly qualified individuals.

Refer to the pre-screening requirements for each individual degree program. All content must be uploaded to CCM's Get Acceptd website.

While pre-screen submission is required for all applicants, not all applicants will be invited to audition or interview. In some cases, students will receive a final admission decision based solely off the pre-screen submission. In other cases, faculty will request an additional audition or interview.

You will be notified via email after faculty have reviewed your pre-screen submission regarding the status of your application and if you will need to participate in an audition or interview. Review the audition/interview requirements for your desired program

Auditions and interviews may be done in-person or via live video.
