CCM presents all-new works created, produced and performed by our students, faculty, staff and alumni, along with world premieres by CCM competition winners and commissioned premieres.
Chants of the Persistent Memory
The CCM Concert Orchestra is joined by faculty artist and acclaimed clarinetist Pavel Vinnitsky for the world premiere of renowned pianist and composer Anna Vinnitsky's "Chants of the Persistent Memory" concerto for clarinet and orchestra. CCM faculty member Aik Khai Pung conducts. The concert was originally presented in CCM's Corbett Auditorium on March 5, 2024. The performance was presented as part of the 2024 Cincinnati Jewish Music and Culture Festival.
Still Waters/Drown
CCM Dance performs the world premiere of "Still Waters," a new work choreographed by CCM Dance Chair Shauna Steele and set to music titled "Drown" by Grace Choi (MM Composition, ‘20; DMA Composition, ‘22). CCM faculty member Aik Khai Pung conducts the CCM Concert Orchestra in this performance, which was originally presented on April 13-16, 2023, in Corbett Auditorium.
To Those Who Protect ...
The CCM Concert Orchestra is joined by faculty artist and acclaimed saxophonist Rick VanMatre for the world premiere of To Those Who Protect..., a new concerto for saxophone composed by CCM alumnus Piotr Szewczyk (BM Violin Performance, ‘00; MM Violin Performance and Composition, ‘03). The piece was inspired by the spectacular artwork of Anna VanMatre. CCM faculty member Aik Khai Pung conducts. The concert was originally presented in CCM's Corbett Auditorium on Oct. 21, 2022.
Falling Upwards
CCM Dance performs Falling Upwards choreographed by Dance Department Chair Shauna Steele and set to the world premiere of Let Me Take You There by Aya Yoshida, Alexander Zemlinsky Prize for Composition winner.
