Housing for High School Workshops

Housing is available for an additional fee for a select number of High School Workshops. Any student attending Musical Theatre Workshop (week 1 or 2-week program) or Voice Workshop who is age 14-17 may live on campus at the University of Cincinnati. High School Workshop students are not required to live on campus.

For out-of-town students, or local students who wish to experience living at UC, campus housing is available in a University of Cincinnati student dorm. Detailed housing information is available through this link.

Alternate housing options: non-local Voice and Musical Theatre Workshop students who do not wish to stay in the dorms will be responsible for arranging their own housing and travel accommodations. If non-local students wish to attend any of the other High School workshops, those students will be responsible for arranging their own housing and travel accommodations.

On-Campus Housing Costs

  • 1-week housing: $800
  • 2-week housing: $1400
  • Room and board charges cover the University of Cincinnati dorm room, two meals a day, supervision at all times by CCM staff and faculty, as well as planned evening events, excursions and travel to them.
  • Housing costs are separate from the tuition for the Workshop.
  • To purchase housing, go to the housing link on the registration website.
  • For students who purchase housing, payment for housing must be received by June 1st.

Accomodations

Dorm rooms accommodate 2 students per suite, with private bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Roommates are assigned, but if a student knows another participant and they would like to room together, please email ccmsummer@uc.edu with those requests as soon as possible.

Each room contains bunk beds, a chest of drawers, an armoire and desk for each student, and a mini-fridge and microwave. There are no hangers in the armoire, students must provide their own. There are vending machines and laundry facilities on the 6th floor which accept coins and UC Bearcat Cards. Linens are not provided. Please bring your own XL twin-bed (80-inch) sheets, blanket, pillow and towel(s).

Dorm rooms and CCM provide free Wi-fi service. In the dorm and throughout campus, residents log into UC Guest which does not require a password. Each room has a cable outlet, but no television or coaxial cord. There is a large-screen TV in a shared area at the end of each hall.

Parking Option For Commuters

Yes, we have a parking option for students who are commuting to a High School Workshop program. There is a CCM garage pass available for $35 per week. There is a registration option for the pass under Summer for All Ages on the registration site. Summer garage passes will be handed out the first day of class.

This type of parking pass is only available for students in the High School Workshop program.

Getting Here

It is the student's responsibility to get to CCM.

If you are flying, you may sign up for a ride from Cincinnati Airport (CVG) to CCM or a return trip when you register. Here is the link for airport transportation registration. There is a $35 fee for both pick-up and drop-off. Please provide flight information to the office via email as soon as possible, especially if you need a ride.

If you are driving, driving directions are available on the parking and directions page of our website. Resident students who are driving themselves to CCM Prep Summer Programs will need a Garage Permit to park at the CCM Garage. There is a $35 per-week fee for these permits.

Financial Assistance Availability

Unfortunately, CCM Preparatory is unable to offer financial assistance for Summer programming at this time. However, there are multiple ways in which students can find independent funding. Resources for finding independent funding include:

  • High School Guidance Counselors
  • Rotary Clubs
  • Local Arts Councils

If you are coming from out of state, please be sure to double check that funding from a rotary club or arts council does not restrict you to in-state opportunities.

Refunds

The housing payment policy is the same as it is for tuition; CCM Preparatory will provide a refund only in the case of a medical emergency; a doctor's note and formal, written request must be submitted.
